This week is turning out to be quite eventful. First, I received my January swap block from Cathy (Adelaide, SA) and it is really pretty. It came with a perfect handmade card and just in time for Valentine's Day.
Second, I entered a lovely blog giveaway by Brenda at Scraps and Strings and somehow the random generator came up with my number! It was her 3 year blogiversary and she is giving away cute needle cases. Thanks so much for a great giveaway, Brenda!

Lastly, I received a neat little award from Cathy- thanks so much for thinking of me. I accept!
1) You have been tagged, do you want to accept?
If yes, then create a post on your blog and post the love blog photo.
2) Link back to the person who gave you the award and say if you accept.
3) Choose 3-5 of your favorite blogs to tag, link these in your post too and tell the lucky people they have been tagged.
The aim of this award, is to bring unknown good blogs to light, therefore, please don't tag someone with 3000 followers.
To be honest, it was really hard to pick just 5 when so many people have such great blogs. So, I tried to stay close to or under 50. Here we go:
This last week was great because I officially finished two projects. I got the bindings on both my Orange Peel and Say Please quilts. Mom and Dad were super nice and let me wash them at their place. I am pretty sure they would have been obliterated in the communal washing machines at my apartment.
Jan Patek club starts this Wednesday so I am super stoked! Report to follow....
Other than the weather, Sunday night offered another surprise- my new sewing machine arrived! It is a Brother PQ1500S; a straight stitch quilting machine. I got it from Big Sky Quilts in Great Falls, MT. Normally, I try to shop local but when there was an $700 difference (huge), I had to go with the one that fit in my budget.
I just hope I have it threaded correctly... I am so worried I am going to break it.
